Northeastern Oklahoma Psychology Internship Program (NOPIP)

NOPIP is an APA-accredited internship consortium* and a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC). We are comprised of three agencies located in and around Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our commitment is to provide quality clinical training and opportunities for leadership development, with an emphasis on applying evidence-based practices, the application of science in practice, research-based programming, as well as clinically-informed research.

NOPIP Mission:

  1. Provide quality clinical training utilizing a diverse range of theoretical models and techniques, recognizing the importance of cultural and individual differences and diversity.

  2. Facilitate the development of critical thinking, conceptualization, and problem-solving skills required to become leaders in the field of psychology.

  3. Consider the needs of each intern individually to ensure all required competencies are met and to allow for the pursuit of intern-specific goals

  4. Emphasize the integration of research and practical experience for the purposes of evidence-based practice as well as clinically-informed research

NOPIP Overview:

  • As a consortium, we have three agencies that contribute and commit to a training program that allows us to pool resources to further diversity the experience of our interns

  • Each consortium site provides interns great exposure to diverse populations and different types of interventions and assessments

  • The four primary components of the training model are: Intervention, Assessment, Didactic Training, and Supervision. Interns are also provided opportunities for program development and/or research, depending on the site.
